What we believe.

The Bible is the inspired Word of God.

The Old and New Testament are verbally inspired by God and are the only written revelation from God to humanity. The Bible is infallible and is the authoritative rule of faith and conduct for humanity.

There is only one true God.

God is the creator of all things, holy, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in a loving unity of three equally divine Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Having limitless knowledge and sovereign power, God has graciously purposed from eternity to redeem a people for Himself and to make all things new for His own glory.

The fall of humanity.

Humanity was created in the image of God. However, by a voluntary act of the will, Adam and Eve disobeyed God. That first sin had several repercussions. Humanity was excommunicated from the Garden of Eden, a curse was pronounced, the process of physical death began, and humans died spiritually. Sin separated humanity from God and left humans in a fallen or sinful condition.

The salvation of humanity.

The only means of salvation is Jesus Christ. He died on the cross to pay the penalty of our sins. When we put our faith in Christ, our sins are forgiven and forgotten, we are adopted and become children of God, we are credited with the righteousness of Christ, we become the Temple of the Holy Spirit, our names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life, we become citizens of heaven, we are born again, and we are given eternal life.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

Jesus Christ is the second person of the Trinity, the eternal Son of God. The Scriptures declare his virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, substitutionary death on the cross, bodily resurrection from the dead and his exaltation to the right hand of God.

The Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity who resides in every person redeemed by God. The Fruits of the Spirit are the by-product of a Spirit-filled life and evidence of spiritual maturity. The Gifts of the Spirit are different manifestations of the Spirit to build up the body. We are instructed to diligently seek the gifts, but they must be exercised in an orderly way in the context of love.

The church and its mission.

Plum Creek exists to lead you to pursue intimacy with God, intentionality with family, and influence with others. Matthew 22:37-40; 28:19-20.

Marriage.

God wonderfully, undeniably and permanently creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image of God. Marriage is the original and foundational institution of human society, established by God as a one-flesh, covenantal union between one created male and one created female that is life-long, exclusive, procreative in nature, and is to reflect the relationship between Christ and the Church.

Sanctity of human life.

Human life is sacred and created by God in His image. It is of inestimable worth in all dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect and value all human life.

Eternal life.

Humans were created to exist forever. Humans will either exist eternally separated from God by sin in Hell or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation in Heaven. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.
